Buggie

A Mac app for testing your own product. Say what's wrong while you use it, and Buggie hands your coding agent the task, with the clip.

Free during early access. For macOS 14 or later.

An AI to write tasks

Buggie uses an AI you already have: the coding agent on your Mac, your ChatGPT account, or an OpenAI or Gemini API key.

Your own

Keys are kept in the macOS Keychain.

A coding agent to fix them

Claude Code, Codex, Cursor Agent or OpenCode on your Mac, or AmpCode Orbs remotely. Or send tasks to a tracker.

What's new
in Buggie

  1. Agents can ask you: a coding agent can ask you a question while it works. You answer in Buggie, and the answer goes straight back.

    Released

  2. Local agents pull their tasks: Claude Code, Codex, Cursor Agent and OpenCode connect over MCP and fetch tasks themselves. Buggie no longer launches them.

    Released

  3. Clearer reports: the report your agent gets now separates what was recorded from what the AI thinks.

    Released

  4. Your drawings travel with the fix: remote fixes on AmpCode Orbs get the capture video, with your drawings burned in.

What Buggie can capture

Say it, circle it or type it. Buggie writes the task, and your coding agent pulls it over MCP.

claude mcp add --transport http buggie http://127.0.0.1:8437

One line connects your agent. Buggie also shows it during setup. What is MCP?

Say what's wrong

Talk while you use your product. Buggie keeps a rolling recording, so the clip around the moment is already there.

Circle ideas on screen

Press ⌥T for the markup tools. Draw, circle or add a note. Ideas and improvements become tasks too.

Or just type

Press ⌃⌥B to open the quick window and type. Mention three things at once, and you get three tasks.

Sends the task where you fix things

Local coding agents

Claude Code, Codex, Cursor Agent and OpenCode pull tasks from Buggie over MCP, when you ask them to. Buggie never launches them.

AmpCode Orbs

Pick Orbs as the Fix target, and Buggie starts the fix remotely. The Orb gets the capture video, with your drawings burned in.

Issue trackers

GitHub, GitLab, Linear and Jira get a full issue, filed as the bug, feature or improvement the analysis found.

Your agent can ask you

When it's stuck, a local agent asks in Buggie. You answer, and it carries on. AmpCode Orbs can't ask.

Connects with the tools you already use

Coding agents pull tasks over MCP. Trackers get full issues. Connect Chrome, and each capture includes its console output, JS errors and network requests.

You choose the AI that writes the tasks: the coding agent on your Mac, your ChatGPT account, or an OpenAI or Gemini API key. Keys stay in the macOS Keychain.

FAQ

How do I get started with Buggie?

Download Buggie with “Try now!” and open it. It sits in the menu bar and keeps a rolling recording. Then connect your coding agent with the one line above, or pick AmpCode Orbs or a tracker.

Does Buggie start my coding agent?

No. Local agents like Claude Code, Codex, Cursor Agent and OpenCode connect to Buggie over MCP and pull tasks when you ask them to. The only fixes Buggie starts itself run remotely, on AmpCode Orbs.

What leaves my Mac?

The rolling recording never leaves your Mac. When you capture a moment (press ⌃⌥B, or say a remark with the mic on), that capture goes to the AI you picked, so it can write the task: the clip, your words, your marks, and the clicks and keys recorded with it. With Chrome connected, its console output, JS errors and network requests come too. Automatic analysis is on by default; you can turn it off in Settings. The finished task goes only where you send it.

Do I have to talk?

No. You can draw, circle or add a note on screen with the markup tools (⌥T), or press ⌃⌥B and type. The microphone hotkey is off by default.

Which AI writes the tasks?

You choose: the coding agent already on your Mac, your ChatGPT account, an OpenAI API key or a Gemini API key. Keys are kept in the macOS Keychain.

Can I leave out private sites?

Yes. For sites you exclude, Buggie keeps no console output, network requests or errors. The screen recording still films them when they are on screen. Password fields are never visible to Buggie, and keystroke logging can be set to typed text, keys only, or off.

What does Buggie cost?

Nothing. Buggie is free during early access.

What do I need?

A Mac with macOS 14 or later. Buggie is in early access, and updates install themselves.

The full task: steps, expected and actual, errors, the timeline and the path to the video.
get_evidence
The raw recorded timeline, without interpretation.
claim_task
Take a task, so it leaves the queue.
post_result
Report back: branch, pull request, notes, done or not.
ask_tester
Ask you one short question.
get_answer
Check for your reply.

In Claude Code, /mcp__buggie__work_bugs runs the whole playbook.

Connect your coding agent

Run the line for your agent once. Buggie shows the same line during setup.
