Buggie for Mac

Test your app out loud. Your coding agent gets the task.

Buggie is a Mac app for testing your own product. Say what's wrong, or circle it on screen. Buggie turns it into a task with a short video clip. Your coding agent, like Claude Code, Codex or Cursor Agent, fixes it.

A short demo. While testing a shop, you say that the discount isn't applied to the total and circle the total. Buggie writes the task. A coding agent in the terminal pulls the task over MCP, fixes it and reports back. The task is marked Fixed.

How it works. You test and talk. Buggie writes the tasks. Your coding agent fixes them.

1Talk

Talk while you test.

Buggie sits in the menu bar and records your screen all the time, but saves only the last few minutes. When something looks wrong, just say it. You don't stop to write anything down.

2Point

Point at it.

Press ⌥T to open the markup tools. Circle the wrong number, draw on the page or add a note. Your marks are saved with the task.

3Write

Buggie writes the task.

Each remark becomes its own task: a bug, a feature or an improvement. It gets a clear title and description. The clip, your words and your marks come with it, plus your clicks and keystrokes. When Chrome is connected, browser console errors come too.

You said, 0:31 to 0:44

Okay, so… um, I typed SAVE10 and it says discount applied. But, uh, the total is still a hundred euros? It should be ninety.

CheckoutBug9:41

The discount isn't applied to the total.

After applying SAVE10, the summary shows −€10.00, but the total stays €100.00. It should be €90.00.

4Split

Say three things, get three tasks.

Talk the way you think. When one recording holds several remarks, Buggie splits them into separate tasks. Each one gets its own clip.

5Hand off

Your agent pulls the task from Buggie.

Agents on your Mac pull tasks from Buggie over MCP, an open standard that lets coding agents use outside tools. Buggie never starts them. Your agent reads the report, claims the task, fixes it and reports back.

6Review

Answer your agent’s questions. See what’s fixed.

If an agent needs a decision, it asks you. The question waits in the Latest panel under Needs you. Pick an answer or type one, and the agent continues. Latest also shows what is in progress, handed off, saved for later and fixed.

Latest opens from the menu bar. The agent's question is illustrated.

Your recording stays on your Mac. Only what you capture leaves it.

Buggie records your screen all the time, but it only keeps the last 1 to 5 minutes. You pick the length. The rolling recording itself never leaves your Mac.

How the rolling recording works. You can choose 1 to 5 minutes.
  • You choose what leaves

When you capture a moment (press ⌃⌥B, or say a remark with the mic on), it goes to the AI you picked, so it can write the task. This happens automatically. You can turn it off in Settings. The finished task goes only where you send it.

  • AI sees only what you capture

Only the moment you capture goes to the AI you picked: the clip, your words, your marks, and the clicks and keys recorded with it. When Chrome is connected, its console and network lines go too. API keys stay in the macOS Keychain.

  • macOS turns speech into text

Buggie uses the Mac's own speech recognition. It runs on the device when your Mac supports it.

  • Passwords and private sites

Buggie never sees secure password fields. For sites you exclude, it keeps no console output, network requests or errors.

  • Keystrokes, your way

Record the text you type, only which keys you press, or nothing. When you record one app, typing in other apps isn't stored.

  • Your AI, your choice

Buggie writes tasks with the AI you choose: the coding agent already on your Mac, your ChatGPT account, or an OpenAI or Gemini API key.

Questions. Short answers.

Does Buggie start my coding agent?

No. Agents on your Mac, like Claude Code or Codex, connect to Buggie over MCP and pull tasks when you ask them to. Buggie starts work itself only for AmpCode Orbs, which run remotely.

What is MCP?

MCP (Model Context Protocol) is an open standard that lets coding agents use outside tools. Buggie gives your agent tools like get_report and claim_task, so it can read a task, take it and report back with post_result.

Which AI writes the tasks?

You choose: the coding agent already on your Mac, a ChatGPT account sign-in, an OpenAI API key or a Gemini API key. Keys are kept in the macOS Keychain.

What leaves my Mac?

Only what you capture. When you capture a moment (press ⌃⌥B, or say a remark with the mic on), it goes to the AI you picked, so it can write the task. The rest of the recording stays on your Mac. The task goes only to the agent or tracker you send it to.

Do I have to talk?

No. You can draw on screen, or press ⌃⌥B to open the quick window and type. The microphone button in the capture bar turns the microphone on and off. A microphone shortcut is optional and off by default.

What do I need?

A Mac with macOS 14 or later, and one of the AI options above. Buggie is in early access, and updates install themselves.
